Trust in Tye - Jimmy Kachulis

A re-composition modeled on the melodic motives and cantus of In Nomine: Trust by English Renaissance master Christopher Tye. The In Nomine cantus, from the Benedictus of The Western Wind Mass by Thomas Tallis, was set numerous times by English Renaissance composers as a "test" piece. This re-composition uses the original 5/4 cantus, surrounding it with original motives, oftentimes in conflicting meters.
